I have a 98 explorer 4x4 sport and have been having some A/C issues lately and wanted to get the input from other before I start buying parts. I am trying to figure out how you can tell if the door or if the actuator is broken without looking at it? In all of my other vehicles, when i turn the manual knob to cold or hot you can hear the actuator closing or opening the door. I can not hear that noise now which leads me to believe the actuator has gone bad and not the door. Can someone confirm if you can hear the door sweep open or close before i purchase a new actuator. I have the manual (3 knob setup). Thanks for the help.
