Alright, I have spent some time making my explorer look better. Im happy with my front and side profiles on my 97 explorer. I got a billet grille, clear corner lenses, hyperwhite bulbs, 20 inch rims, and a good tint. From front and side profiles I like the way it looks, a lot. I've been trying to figure out a way to improve the look of the back and add some performance. I plan on shaving the emblems and changing the tail lights. However, I don't really like the Euro lights too much on an explorer. Looking for a do it yourself guide for something like this: http://www.sounddomain.com/id/defiantguy21 (so if you could help me get started please say something). I'm also looking for suggestions on how to improve that back profile a bit more beyond that. I plan on getting an exhaust system, hopefully I can find a dual exhaust in my price range. Well, any help? Thanks.

back profile how? profile means a side view..... huh? ar eyou going to shave the hatch lever that opens the gate/window? are your rear pillars painted to match the body?

Nice looking ride. I shouldn't give you any advise only because your ride is so much nicer than mine. ;)

But if I were where you are now, I would shave all the logos on the rear hatch. And what Jimabena74 said, paint everything body color.

Ugh! I just had a web loading error that deleted my entire reply. How frusterating. OK, here is the jist of what I had already typed: When I say rear profile I mean any view of the car that is viewing the vehicle from behind. :D No, my paint does not all match because I own an eddie bauer edition explorer (white/gold trim). I don't know if I am ambitious enough to take on a project such as shaving the wiper blade and rear door latch. I guess if I had a short guide (like how the heck do I fill in the hole and make the paint match?) it would be worth considering. I also am looking for advice on an exhaust kit. I've been looking at Borla mostly because it is dual exhaust. Are there any other dual exhaust systems available? How do I clear up the color on my tails? Heh, and what is a "rear pillar" and how do I do that (picture of one?)?

Another thing I've noticed about the exhaust kits for 4 door explorers: they are true dual exhaust and there are very few for 5.0 V8s. Any of you have the heads up on any true dual exhaust kits?

maybe a lund windjammer or something to that sort,
also get rid of the nasty blue ford emblem it doesn't match the red truck :)

I misread that at first too.

He's wanting to use that truck as his inspiration.

From what I know the only way you can get a true dual exhaust is to have it custom made at a local exhaust shop. No one makes it. Personally I would tell you to go w/a Borla exhaust, I love the way it makes a 5.0 sound. I put it on my 1st X and it came on my current X. Defiantly get ride of the emblem and paint the wipers, door handles and the rear pillars all white.
