How to: Install auto-dimming rearview mirror

I did not hook up the reverse turn-off wire, I manage to navigate in reverse all by my self.

This is a quick and easy install...

I'm not that good- this really is that easy of an install... The hardest part is probably getting the old mirror off the mount.

(push a small flathead screwdriver intot he hole on the lower front of the mirror mount housing and press the clip down and slide the mirror up and off)

Did they make the auto darkening mirrors with the headlight controls???

Yes, if it was a mirror from an Ex it would have the auto headlamp module. I didn't want auto lights, so I got a mirror from a Windstar. I just like the cleaner look I guess.

So there is an auto darkening mirror WITH headlight controls??? hmmmm... i need to look into that. i wonder if it would be a "plug and play type of deal since i already have a harness up there so there must be juice already. but maybe not on the correct pins??

just for clarification, so i dont fry my mirror. I know black is ground but I cant determine which one is the power wire, I have a red with yellow and a purple with pink. Its the mirror from a 98 windstar as well, I've googled for the harness diagram and nothing has come up

Red with yellow stripe is your power wire...

I had to watch my own video to get that, I was going to be pissed at myself if I forgot to say that in there- it's at 2:52 in case someone else needs the info as well...
