I tried searching, only found info for 95-up X's. I can't remember if the power window switches or the headlight switch ever lit up in my X. I was 9 years old when it was new, so I don't remember. Anyway, do they light up? And do the cruise control buttons light up? Any procedures to replacing? Thanks

Nope, they don't light up. The only way is to replace them with late model switches (If possible)

You could try glow in the dark stickers...:p

go to Radio Shack and buy some LED's that are the color you want (i like the blue or the red's, but your choice).

wire them into a voltage reducer or something that wont kill the LED's. maybe a battery mounted under your dash, a 9volt could power enough LED's i suppose.

take the switches apart and fit the LED's in. run them power.

maybe that would work?

LEDs would be too bright for those switches, I think.

Nah, it won't work because the arrows on the switches are just painted on (and consequently rub off). I think the only way would be to cut holes in the shape of the arrows and put some translucent white material behind them and then wire up some lights. I thought about it, but it would be way too time-intensive.

peace

Im glad this came up as I thought it was silly they were not lit from the factory, but as has been said I cant see any easy way to fix this.
