Hi all,

It's time to sell my beloved XLT and I need to address a couple of the small issues.

First, is the Driver's side, rear door molding which somehow got caught up and pulled back....as seen in the pic. I'm thinking of removing and attempting to fold back (perhaps with some heat) and re-secure. Any ideas on how to repair or should I just replace? I tried sourcing a used one but could never find the same style piece. Also, do I have to remove the interior door panel to detach the molding?

Regarding the running board, anyone successfully bend one back to straight? I'm going to give it a try and see how it goes. Main question is, can I reuse the rubber tread that appears to be glued to the top if I need to repaint?

Any tips, tricks or experienced advice is appreciated! (or leads on reasonably priced replacement parts or a buyer )

Thanks all.

If it were me I'd try and replace both parts. Trying to repair stuff like that is a PITA and won't look right even if it works. I bet you could find junkyard parts for either, just try and find the same year and trim package as yours.

I agree fusseli. Seems the trucks that I locate either don't have the parts or they're selling the molding with the door as one part.

I'll keep on looking.

Still wondering if I can remove the molding without taking the interior door panel off.

replace molding and ditch the running boards looks better without them

Was thinking of going that route fed.....not sure yet. I'll remove and see how she looks.

Bump for anyone who might have taken this molding off. How is it attached?

Thanks.

ugh how stupid is it that photobucket decided to implement that 3rd party hosting bs where you cant see any of their hosted pictures unless you pay like 50 bux a year to have one of their accounts
