I have read a few threads on replacing the plastic bushing in my window motor. I have a 97 XLT and need to replace the bushings in my 2 front doors. I got the door panel off and see that there is 3 rivets and a bolt coming through so I would like to know for my model and year, do I need to drill out the 3 rivets too and do I need to drill a 1/2" hole in a dimple to reveal a screw?

I checked out the thread that shows by detail with pics how this is done but that is performed on a rear door and I need to work on a front door.

Thanks,
Chris

drill out the rivits.

First drive out the center pin with a punch and a hammer, then with a very sharp 1/4 inch drill bit drill out the rivit head

Well, I decided to take it apart tonight and saw the 2 bolts through two little holes and after I removed the speaker, I saw the little dimple in which I drilled out with a 1/2" bit to expose the bolt. Once I removed the 3 bolts and unplugged the power, the motor came right out and I was able to replace the plastic bushings in both windows. They work great now.
