I am having trouble putting in a new tailgate latch on my 2006 Ranger. The original plastic one snapped off during a cold spell. I have an identical replacement part, but can't figure out how to install it. I removed the inside plastic cover to the gate and there is nothing more to remove (that I know of). I can't get the new plastic part into and through the two outer metal rectangular holes. Has anyone else had any experience with this?
