How to shut off oil change light?

The oil change light is on in my 06 Mounty, and I can't get it to go away. I go to set up, hit reset and it goes away until I turn it on again. How do I make it go away for good?

The oil is fresh...fresh enough, btw

on my 08 I have to scroll through the setup menus until I get to reset oil life. I reset the oil life counter and I am fine. It the last option on the menu for me.

hold in in for a few seconds till it reads 100%. And on mine sometimes it takes two tries. I'm have an '04, and usually in the 3rd gen section, should be the same, i'm guessing.

Press the Trip/reset button to cycle to "setup menu hold reset".
Press and hold the button for 2 seconds until "RESET FOR SYSTEM CHECK" is displayed, then release.
Then press and hold button for 2 more seconds until "Oil 100%.." is displayed, then release.
Imediately press button once to display "HOLD RESET IF NEW OIL" and release.
Imediately press and hold button for 2 seconds until "OIL LIFE SET TO 100%" is displayed.
