I have a 2002 Ford Explorer that has the factory (dealership?) installed remote starter. How do I use this? What button(s) do I push in the transmitter? What is the little button on the bottom of the dash?
I just bought this and I don't know how to use the remote starter.
does it have a std remote or something aftermarket. For aftermaket remote starts push both lock/unlock button at the same time.
For factory remotes, most have a seperate button. but I have seen some use and aftermarket remote start with a factory remote. it uses the lock button pressed 2-3 times. As for the dash button sometimes the installer puts a button that can be used to activate the remote start to take over when stopping for a quick stop.
Say you go to the 7-11 and want to leave your truck running. just hit the button and turn off like normal. the truck says running but is unable to be stolen, as the steering column is locked, and if the brake is pressed the truck shuts down.
