how too find rear gear ratio

i need to basically know if the rear drive axle gears from a 91 xlt expl. X automatic are relatively close to or the same as my 94 expl sport 5 speed. or even better were i would find this info.

You can find the axle code on the sticker in the drivers side door.

If for some reason that's worn off it's also on a metal tag on the rear diff, stuck under a cover bolt.

You may also get some help from the VIN number. Go to this site and insert the number and it will list the data available:

also a sticker on the back of the front passenger axle will tell you what gears are in there, normally the same front/rear.
