how tough

I have a 99 xlt explorer 4x4. I want to now how tough it real can be. U know its parts. It i were to put a d ring shackle in my rear bumper spot. would the bumper stay attached to the rest of the truck. Is that a good tow point or not... And if you guys could send some pics of your stock I repeat stock explores to me so i could se how bad and tough they real are. It would be great thanks. Later, Happy trials truckers [

Hmmm for a grocery getter they are pretty darn tough, but if you're comparing them to fullsizes with military axles and 44's I gues they're pretty weak

It's all in the eye of the beholder.

And yeah, you can put a Dring on the bumper and pull from it. GJarrett has one on his truck.

Yes I have a D-ring to pull with, but I have reinforced my bumper, and only use it for minor tugs. I have a frame mounted towhook for most pulls. I don't know how much a stock bumper could take on a pull.
