Just a short message to say hello. I joined some time ago but this is my first post. I am a farmer in SW Missouri and own a 2006 Eddie Bauer Explorer with 4.6 liter V-8. My other vehicles are all trucks, two diesel and one gasoline.
The Explorer now has over 10,000 miles and no problems so far. Gas mileage runs around 16.5 mpg at this time. It was 17. 8 for most of the first year but now dropped. I put in a new air filter recently so this may help the mileage. I change oil at 3000 miles because of dusty rural roads and pulling trailer.
Most of the leisure driving involves pulling a 17 foot Casita fiberglass travel trailer. Gas mileage with trailer runs around 12 mpg.
I am getting ready to install a Cobra 75 WX ST All-in-handset Mobile CB. I bought this model because of lack of available space inside the car. Any info on installing CBs in Explorers will be appreciated.
