I recently purchased a Pioneer DEH-P3300 HU for my 94 Ex'. I removed the stock radio from the front and slid the new HU in, but there are small gaps between the new hu and the opening and I can see the silver metal of the new HU. Well, I thought that if I removed the dash front and installed the HU BEHIND the dash front that it wou;d help hold the HU in, as well as hide the silver part of the HU.

I have just done that and it didn't help. Is there a faceplate or something that should take care of this problem? Thanks

Hmmm.... My headunit (JVC KD-LX3) came with a trim piece that fit around the headunit and filled in the gaps. I have heard of a lot of people making their own trim plates out of various materials, but I myself have not done anything like that.

yes...look long and hard because there should have been a trim piece to come with it...or at least thats how it has been with every HU ive bought

If not you can get the trim piece at any flea market.

Thanks Guys. I bought the HU on clearance w/o box or any other parts besides the harness. Just wasn't sure what should have come with it. I'll probably end up making one. Thanks again.
