o i have a 2000 ford explorer 4x4 i was just wondering if a front hub assembly from a 2000 ford ranger would fit on my explorer

It will fit physically, but it won't work. Sorry, I'll explain. The 2000 ranger has vacuum hubs, which are auto locking hubs that are actuated by vacuum. Your 2000 explorer has live axles. No locking hubs. The end of your CV shafts are smooth where they go through the hubs and threaded on the end for the retaining nut. The ranger hubs are splined for the locking hubs.
