Just picked up a Hypertech Max Energy unit.

Does anyone know if you really have to pull the fuses for the satellite radio system, remote starter system, and additional amplifiers??

Has anyone had problems programming without performing these issues?

Help

thanks

You may want to follow the directions on this one. The PCM may program fine, but you may mess up the programming of the other units, or the software interface between the modules. If you can find the fuses (owner's manual), it may save you time and money over having to have things reprogrammed at the dealer.

thanks for replying. I went ahead and talked to the tech department at Hypertech and they said I should be fine. I did however pull the external amp fuses to be safe. All went well

Thanks

i am thinking of buying this...why do you have to pull fuses?

Actually, I talked to the techs at Hypertech and they said that it wasn't really necessary. I disconnected my main fuse for my aftermarket amps only. Just make sure the radio is turned off and that all the doors are closed when you start to run the program. Make sure the windows are down so you don't get hot sitting in the truck for about 2o minutes or so.

Why this product over the sct xcal3?

I have the Hypertech Max in my 09 Adrenalin and after pulling the fuses from where their located twice I contacted Hypertech and their response was as long as there wasn't anything aftermarket there would be no need to. since then I have done numerous downloads with fuses in place with no issues.
