As the title says, I've searched online junkyards, ebay, and advanced auto for a replacement PCM for my 96 v8 with a calibration code of SLL1. This was an early 96 i believe, and apparently they changed to code to SLL4 shortly after making mine.

Anyone know of my options here? I dont really feel like spending 200+ at a dealer since im pretty poor at the moment, but I would like to see if a new PCM fixes the timing issue on my truck.

I sent a PM
I have a spare PCM with this code.

Why are you worried about te box code?

I was under the assumption that the calibration code had to match???

the trucks have to match, there are usually a couple different codes for each year, etc.

Any 96 5.0L auto should work fine, regardless of the code.
CA trucks will sometimes have a different code then other states, etc....

Ok excellent, would you mind resending the PM, my box was full ;)

The only reason to match the code is if you have a chip or a flasher tune which is code locked.
