does it have automatic or manual locking hubs?
 






That 'key' sits in the slot on the spindle and is flush with the edge to the bearing nut. That's why you will need a dental pick to get it out.

That's what prevents the bearing nut from loosening.

I just tighten them down as much i can WITHOUT feeling drag when you turn the rotor. if the rotor feels hard to turn they are too tight. then, back them off as necessary until the keyway slot for the pin lines up.

if you can wiggle the rotor (by holding both sides) then it's too loose.
