i feel tupid

can't believe i'm admiting to this, i feel shame:(

recently i've installed a kkm and a new cbak dynomax system, reset the computer, and felt i wasn't getting a whole lot out of them(some, but i was pineing for more), a friend of mine (mechanic) was checking out my mods, and mentioned that i was in need of a new serpbelt, i commented yeah it's original as is my tstat (just turned 60K, not really sure why i was tempting fate, i do know better), he says "what are you f**king retarded", so i went to the store and picked up both ($23 total bill - oh yeah, the serpbelt was a goodyear gatorback - will this give me xtra hp's j.k.), took me less than a half hour to install, then i reset the computer again and you know what? these trucks run alot better when at the correct temp

Damn that's harsh :p I don't think 60k on the original timing belt is that bad. Did it have any cracks in it?
 






Don't feel bad TSTONE, i have 65K mi on my orig. Serp belt, i know i need to change it, but haven't had a chance yet, lol. But my Tstat is new!

K.T. were not talking about timing belt were talking about serpentine belt, yyou know the belt that drives the AC, and alt. and Power Steering, and Water pump and all
 






my friend is a ford mechanic, he claims replacement standard is if you have more than 4 cracks per inch on the ribbed side, i had like 4 cracks per 1/4 inch all the round the belt:eek:

oh yeah, i almost forgot, i started a thread a couple a weeks ago
"sweet smell - can't find"
ever since the tstat replacement, the smell has gone away, my friend's guess is that the gasket around the plastic rad tank ends has a slow leak, and since i was taking so long to get up in temp(which was never past the "n" even after 1hr drive time) the gaskets were taking along time to swell and close off the seapage, now my x heats upto dead center(noR^Mal) within a couple of minutes, thus heating up the gasket before it has a chance to seap
