hehe yeh.. if i decide to keep my mountaineer.. i'll be doing a supercharger and a nitrous kit too.. also not to mention the prerunner long travel suspension.. but if i do sell my mountaineer i'll get a T*coma...sorry.. or maybe a Ranger... but i like toyotas.. my other car is a toyota..

Why get rid of your Mountaineer? Just keep building it, and keep it for 'wheeling. For instance, my Ranger is getting near 10 years old. I bought the thing in '96 for $10,500.00 off the used car lot. I built it to the point that I'd be losing money if I sold it, and if I bought a new truck, it'd be another 5 years before I could seriously take it out and thrash it. So, keep the Mountaineer, give it true 4WD, and start tackling those trails east of Fresno!

i kinda wanna get rid of it cause its only a 2wd, and if i do a 4wd conversion theres lots of work.. its gonna be hard doing long travel on the mounty and 2x more expensive since it'll be custom.. When i do decide to sell it sometime next year.. you guys wil be the first to kno and hey, i'm hopin one of you guys buys it!

I am not impressed with toyotas at all.. I test drove a tundra not too long ago, its the only truck in its class still using archaic drum brakes in the rear, since I obviously am not a heavy hauler or a rock crawler, (wow that rhymes lol) I want the 4 wheel discs for general road use. Toyota trucks look cheaply built and flimsy, painted tinfoil.

I dont think I'm going to be doing anything to my mounty anymore, maybe replacing a few worn items to keep it looking nicer. My stereo installation has left my center console trim alittle bruised, and I have a new set waiting to go in as soon as I get a new radio trim bezel.

The trucks worth $10k in the KBB, I'm not putting $4k into it for a supercharger heh, besides its high mileage, it probablly couldn't even support one.

Stick with domestics, you can't go wrong

haha.. your talking to a ricer in denial... in fact, i still am one.. i kno i kno.. i just wanna build a truck with long travel and throwing long travel onto a 00 explorer is gonna be a b*tch so i might give up and it'd be easier to do long travel on a tacoma..

hehe, ya I've been called that myself a few times.. street tires and guards.. clear lenses.. some people even say having a kkm makes me a ricer.. whatever.. If there is anything I do like about my truck its the way it looks.. my fav. thing about leaving campus (aside from leaving campus itself) is being able to walk to my car and see it all shiny lol

I guess thats my ego talking, but I do feel good about my cars appearance, just not the performance

yeh i kno how you feel.. Man i love my mounty.. I used to hate driving cause gas is expensive has hell... I drive just to make myself feel better now.. I love going to gas stations because I get all the looks from people... every gas station i go i only pump five bucks, hehe so i have a reason to go to another gas station! i kno im stooopid! hehe

Why would one spend thats much money to upgrade a 2wd vehicle as if it was a 4wd. Or are you just tring to see how far back in thw woods you will actually make it?Better yet maybe you just like running stuff over such as curbs and what not. Personally i would have just took all the money you sepnt on lift and tires (offroad performance) and lower that 2wd of yours and through some chrome 20s.

you drop you limited yourself to street only

you lift you keep streetability, and gain offroading

after owning an suv.. although its 2wd, I dont think I can go back to a car.. the idea of being bound to the pavement like a slave would keep me awake at night, even tho my mounty is 2wd its more than capable enough to do light trails and whatnot.. all youneed is a limited slip and the ground clearance.

4wd, 2wd, no slip or not.. i'm doing the prerunner thinG anyways.. im not into the rock crawling thing really.. my modo is "go fast and you wont get stuck.. and jump it till you break someting"
