just purchased a 06 xls (former government owned, sheriff actually)
61,000 miles on it for a great deal. I have put 1100 miles on it in the last 2 weeks since purchase and have the shakes above 65mph. Going for a tire balance / rotation tomorrow when I get a chance.
Any other thoughts?
I do live in Mi and have used the 4x4 the past few days off and on thanks to the
snowtorious B.I.G storm we just got. everything worked great.

does the steering wheel just shake ?
or is it all of the Ex, ?

Maybe its you? If the rotate/balance doesn't do it try going in for a detox... lol :D

Steering wheel & all of ex. My kids thought I was doing it on purpose. Just happened tonight. Checked for snow/ice build up but all is clear.

Now thats funny - but my wife was in the car as well :)

Welcome to this forum! Balance all 4 wheels, rotate the tires, and get an alignment.

I had the same issue last week:

I got some good pointers as to where to start. Tire pressure, balancing and aligning is the first thing to do.

In my case it turned out to be four extremely loose bolts at the end of the driveshaft... Easy to see and fix, so be sure to check that out if balancing and alignment doesn't fix the issue.

shakes

i had the same issue a balance and rotation made it better a simple thing u can check is make sure there is no mud on ur rims ect. jack up all wheels one at a time and see if u can move them by rocking them if so u have bad wheel bearings
