Had to happen eventually, like the slow march of time....

Still, I hate it when it happens....

I just noticed.....On my 2010 the fuel gauge is on the right side, but if you look here its on the left. Wonder why ford changed it on later 4th gen's...

100,000 ......

Just broken in :)

Today's cars should easily last 200.

I'm aiming for 250,000 on this one. I think she can do it.

My 2006 is on the left...thats odd that any of them would be different.

my 2010 xlt is less than 700 miles from 100k

nice, 127K on mine. still running great. might need to do my struts soon.

from my searches on replacing my cluster i have found that 06-07 share same cluster but 2 options w/message center and wo/message center.... match the same one and get it programed... 2008 has 2 like options but some have fuel on left some on right but only a 2008 cluster will work in a 2008 but you have to get the same left/right fuel gauge placement ... 09-10 all have fuel on right and they can be programmed for either year.... there is definitely more differences than just placement internally... I suspect ford did this to stop mileage tampering since 99% of the shops cant change the mileage with a computer but some people have the tools to clone the cluster but mileage stays the same so you would want a newer cluster from a totaled out explorer with very low miles.... truck will also not run with the cluster turned off or removed so no freezing the miles... I was trying to find a cluster to match as close as possible to my actual miles but this becomes tricky because I can only use 06-07 clusters.... my cluster works from time to time enough to see the mileage but it climbs each week so its almost a losing battle

My 2008 xlt also has its fuel gauge on the right side.

It's hard to be noticed when the fuel is nearly running out.

but 2011 explorer seems to be better?
