I hate to do it, BL question

Ok, I'm sure this is posted somewhere, but I couldn't find it. I was told on here that the rear brackets would work from the 883 PA BL kit (98 ranger) on my 2000 XLT 4dr. We went through everything quickly and got everything done in like 2 hours and then started on the bumpers. Got the front done perfectly. The rear, thats another story. NO WAY did the brackets fit up right. If anyone can help me, tell me what you did or to do? We might just fab some up if we can't figure out a way to use the ones given. Thanks everyone. You'll have to cut notches in the bumper if I remember right.

The PA BL rear bumper brackets simply won't work on Explorers. It is the one of the drawbacks of not having a kit of our own. You will probably have to fab up your own brackets. I know their is a thread somewhere around here with the exact dimensions of the brackets.

On mine I had to cut little notchs in the bumper because the frame was in the way.

On my '94 Ford Ranger, I couldn't get things to work right, so I bought a Smittybuilt dbl tube bumper, and rotated it up - eliminating the gap from the 2" Body lift. With the supplied diamond plate gap eliminator that came standard with the Smittybuilt bumper, you couldn't tell the truck had a body lift.

Never took a pic. But Basicly I just looked where it mounted and took a sawzall and notched the bumper. I got my lift used though so it was already ready for a explorer. My mounts were custom made I think. There is a diagram of the custom braket some where on the board ...Try searching for it.

Ha - have a good one and thanks a whole lot. Oh, on last question...did you run across an e-brake problem? Right now my ebrake is disconnected cause we don't know how the thing works (or how to compensate for the 3" lift). Any clues/advice would be nice..Thanks again

Nope Never toched the E-brake. Still works fine One note though! Keep an eye on your ground for the engine. Mine was fine until a few weeks ago when it broke. I think the final staw was my gibson I put on. To much torqe for it.
