Hello all,
I have been fighting this issue for a little while now. It seems that at 65 until about 70 I have a wobble/ vibration in the front end. It is odd though, some days seem to be worse then others. Seems that it is worse when it is warmer out.

The tires are brand new, only about 5,000 miles on them. I did the upper and lower ball joints on both sides about 4 months ago and they have about 7,000 miles on them as well as all 4 shocks. I replaced all wheel bearings, rotors and pads about 6 months ago.

There is no noise or anything. The steering wheel shakes as well as the dash. At higher speeds it is fine. Although when u hit a bump it shudders through the whole truck.

Now I read some posts that some explorer just have this problem and no matter what it doesn’t go away, I was just wondering if anyone had any input before I give up and live with it.

Are you sure the tires were balanced properly?

Well before I got the new tires I had the old ones balanced and it was the same, then I got the new tires nothing changed compaired to the old ones. Now I know it dosen't rule it out, but I would think that it would have at least changed a little.

Are your 4X4 nuts snug that hold the hub assembly bearings tight?

Well when I jack up the front end there is some movement when moving the tire, but it is very little and it is equal on both sides. I did take that all apart and tried to tighten the nut more, but that would have not made it finger tight anymore and I didn't want to overtighen it. It dosen't even move half way to the next Key way.

Oh and I have auto hubs btw.

Oh ok...I assumed you had manual's since most put them on there first gens. I'm not familiar with autohub setups my first gens had manuals. I'm out of ideas here....I'm sure someone else could chime in and help trouble shoot.

I had the same problem for years. Unfortunately new tires fixed it for me and since you've done that I can't really suggest anything new.
