I have a problem Sounds like Popcorn

Hi My name is nick and i have a 1993 4X4 ford explorer. When i crank the motor over it idles really rough making a noise similar to popping popcorn, the rpm will rev and then it will die. It sounds like its misfiring. I went ahead and replaced the spark plugs,fuel filter,oil changed and had the coil packed tested. everything i have tried has not help. have you taken your truck to get the check engine light checked? could be the egr valve. your best bet is to see if you can get a code and go from there.

I cant even take it to a shop, because it runs for like a min. then it dies. I might have to go buy an odm 1 to check my computer.

did you put your plug wires back on in the correct order? i know ive done that once or twice

Check for a vacuum leak at the vacuum tree by the firewall drivers side.
