Ok so I'm not sure if this should be in the stock or modified section but here goes. I recently purchased a product that anyone who is restoring original interior parts should have. It is called "Color Bond". Color Bond is a die/paint for interior plastics, vinyl, leather and carpets. I used this myself on my drivers side door panel and the trim on a overhead console taken out of different Explorers. The console was dark gray and the door panel was a lighter gray. Color Bond is neat in the sense that it doesn't cover up the grain of the plastic, swirls and patterns in your plastic aren't covered up at all with this stuff and there are no light and dark spots. As its explained on the can the color seeps into the plastic and actually dies it to the new color. Color Bond comes in 12oz spray cans and they also have cleaners and adhesion promoters as well as the color. The great thing about this stuff is that it comes color matched to whatever interior you have, mine for instance is the dark red interior. It matches great and you can not tell one panel from the other, they match perfectly. So anyways get yourselves a can of this stuff. Its available from LMC truck. The cans are kinda steep, $15 per can but worth it versus the cost of a new panel. :)

That came out real nice.

Do you have any experience using it on carpet? Is it just for interior pieces or will it work on the exterior as well?

Thanks - Rondo

not sure if it will work on exterior stuff, i assume it will as long as its plastic. It dosen't say anything about carpet on the can, but i sprayed it on the carpet down on the lower portion of the door and it covered that up great, it matches the carpet on the passenger door panel though so I was happy :-)
