I was driving home today and i turned the boost on my pioneer premier from 50 hz to 120 hz and put it up to +3. When i turned it back down to 50hz I lost my subs. when I got home I checked all the fuses, they're ok. +12 V all the way back to the amp, but the amp has no power. both fuses on the amp are fine. Anybody have any clue?
Thanks,

Nick

What is the amp's remote connected to?

It's hooked up to my head unit.

And you've checked that it's flowing?

No, I have not. However, Woulden't the green light on the amp be on if it was receiving power?

I guess so ;)

I would rule out the remote wire as a reason though.

I'm really too tired to do anything with it tonight. First thing tomorrow morning I guess. Thank you for all your help Alec.

You should have a fuse near the battery. Check that and make sure it isn't blown.

He already said the amp's power wire is fine, didn't he?

yah, it's an 80 amp fuse and it's A'Ok

80 amp? dang, that is huge!!!!!

if the fuses on the amp are alright it couldnt be the amp could it?..it would have to be that the HU isnt turning it on like alec said..so i wouldnt worry to much about it being dead

I've had a similar problem and it was the fuse. All the fuses looked fine so I swapped out each fuse one at a time. When I changed the fuse going to the sub amp it came back on and was fine.

I guess I didn't do what I thought I did. This morning I got out the trusty volt meter and started checking current. everything checked. . . even the 80amp fuse up front. However, when I jiggled it about my subs thumped. Somehow I guess a surge or whatever simply dislocated the fuse from its slots. I dunno really, I'm just glad it's fixed. thanks for all your help

Ok, here's something to try.....if your inline fuse is ok(the one under the hood) get a piece of wire, gauge doesnt really matter, strip both ends touch one on the +terminal on the amp(with the power wire connected of course) and the other end on the remote turn on terminal....if the amp powers up, the problem is most definatly in your remote turn on wire/or head unit.

Hope this helps,
Stu

and then i read the post before mine....haha it was still a good idea though!

I ran the hell out of the amp and subs today, and didn't have a single problem. Allthough I will say this; as far as troubleshooting goes a good volt meter will do wonders for your sanity! FLUKE electronics anyone?
