I think it is the FPR anyway.
I was driving 70mph with the cruise control and ran into some slower traffic. So I pressed the gas pedal up to 80mph and held it there to get around the traffic. When I released the gas pedal, the cruise picked back up at 70 and the check engine light came on. I hit the first exit to check the oil and coolant although I was showing good pressure and temp. All was good under the hood so I got back on the road. The check engine light kept coming on and going off and I noticed that when climbing hills the truck would miss a little and then surge. I made it home.
After reading some other posts, I figure it must be the FPR.
I have not gotten out in the cold to check it out yet. If it is the FPR, my advice is to release the cruise control before using your gas pedal.

Same w/ mine. The FPR fixed it. Make sure you buy it from carparts.com. First time buyers get 30% off.

How does it run around town? I think my FPR could be bad as well because of poor fuel economy (10-13 around town). I cleaned the MAF and reset the brain. No difference, accept now I'm getting some pinging on the highway that I didn't have before. Just wondering how to tell if the FPR is bad simply from performence...I haven't noticed any surgeing or anything like that. Mines going to the shop next week to have error codes read and all sensors checked for proper operation.

Seems to be running ok around town. Haven't gotten back out on the big road yet. Gas milage is going to depend on your driving habits.
