Hi there, I did this last week, but i just helped out a buddy of mine. So what i need to know is, or rather comfirm is, you do tighten the bolts to raise the truck right? (not loosen them)?

Thanks!

Torsion Bars

As with all standard thread bolts, it's "Lefty Loosey (lower), Righty Tighty (raise). Sounds stupid but it's always true with standard thread bolts!

Oh, i know the standard thread thing, i just didn't know how exactly the torsion adjustment work....

HOWEVER, after spending 4 hours, lying in the snow and slusha and even getting some frost bite, I know have a VERY good knowledge of how it works. I only went out to put in a new bolt, as one of mind had snaped and I couldn't really raise the front more than an inch or so. Anyways, the stuipd piece of the bolt that broke wouldn't come out, as the weight of the truck was on it, I couldn't drill it out, pry it out, release the pressure or ANYTHING, by which time my hands are white (and i'm a brown guy!). Finally, i put back in the old, broken bolt which pushed out the little broken peice and then i put back in the new bolt and put back on the little skid plate/guard thing....however i was too cold and tired to turn the bolt any more, so my truck's at about the same height it was before...maybe a 1/4" higher on the one side....I"ll be back at it tomorrow i guess?????????????

I'm tired just listening to ya!

All that work for a 1/4 inch height adjustment?!? I think you got robbed!! LOL! At least it should work for ya now. Just remember to jack up the truck and let the front wheels hang before you try to crank it up. A lot easier without the weight on it! Good luck.
