I know......Dump it and run!
I had a used 91 Explorer, drove it 50K, not a problem until I totalled it.
So, got a 94 Explorer and the very next day the tranny's puking fluid. Front seal is most likely the culprit.
I've heard all the ugly stories about the A4ld and the inherent factory problems.
My dilemma is I need to either pull this and fix it, or find someone locally that knows how to make the necessary mods without charging me an arm and leg.
I've heard there's modified bell housings too.
Local shops (arggggh) all say "Sure, bring it in and it'll cost what it costs". No thanks. I'm not interested in dumping $2000-$3000 into it.
Any suggestions of the best way to go, short of torching the truck?
I have very limited funds but I'm "mechanically inclined". I just need guidance from a wrench that's knowledgeable about the A4LD.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
