I will build them before i throw 90$ at them. This is a temporary lift, Im currently sourcing parts for a 4-5'' lift. I will go with a new leafpack with a stock length shackle in the end.

For the record, there is a thread on here somewhere discussing how crappy the autozone shackles look...and how not a single person who has used them has any complaints about them, myself included.

Im with you on this one, My gf's dad in an engineer that worked for ford for a long time, and he also builds offroad rigs. He told me the only way im going to damage these shackles is if someone pulls me out of a hole sideways. Ill take his word on this one.:D

What i did was cut the head off the back of the bolt, then with a center punch i moved it as far as i could from the back. At this point i had about a 1/4 inch to stick a piece of pipe in the hole. Now i put a ram between the frame rails and it was pushing on one side of the frame and the piece of pipe. With lots of pressure the bolt popped out.

Glad it worked for you...just sounds like you effectively were trying to spread the frame rails with 15,000 lbs of force. Can't be good for the frame.

I'd have to agree with you on that. Most of the stress on shackles under normal driving would be tension.

Off camber stuff would be trying to bend them sideways a bit as well.
