2004 Explorer XLT 4x4
I have a 2004 Explorer XLT 4x4 and I am thinking of putting Mickey Thompson Classic II's on it in a 17x9 size. The back spacing on the wheel is 4.5 according to the factory website. Does anyone know if these will fit and if there will be any rubbing issues or anything? Also I would like to keep the overall dimensions as close to stock as possible so as not to throw off my speedo so what would be the correct size 17in tire to purchase? I am looking for something like on the F150's, Goodyear Rugged Trail i think. Thanks for all the help.

I've got a feeling that The MT wheels are going to be too wide.

Besides back spacing you have got to worry about the offset.

Yeah I have looked everywhere trying to see what the offset would be on those, but I can't seem to find that info. They also have a 16x8 version that I am sure would be fine as I had them on my Ranger Edge previously and they looked awesome. I just wanted to fill up a little of the empty wheel well space with the 17's on the explorer. Just out of curriosity has anyone ever had or seen these wheels on a newer explorer? If so did they look good or not? Thanks again for all the input.
