I need help please!

Hi guys, I got a 2004 explorer and the problem is that every time i turn on the ac i hear this knocking sound coming from under the dashboard. If i switch the ac to hot air i hear the same noise, the noise is coming from under like where the control switch for cold and hot air is. Can somebody help me find the problem? Thank you for your time.

Sounds like a bad Blend Door Actuator. I am actually going to tackle this tomorrow. I got the part from Ford for $70. Check out this thread:

Definitely blend door actuator. You can replace it without removing the dash if you take the time.
