Hi,

I sure could use some help. I'm trying to replace the stock radio from my 1996 Ford Ranger pickup truck but I can't figure out how to remove it.

Thanks,
Mark

...There are 4 holes on the face of the radio, 2 on each side...It uses a special tool that pushes into both holes on each side at the same time to unlatch the radio...A stereo shop would have these, if you ask they may pull it for you...:dunno:

Welcome to this forum! You need these tools: http://www.amazon.com/OTC-7575-Ford-Radio-Removal/dp/B0002SRBJ8

You don't really need the tool... some stiff pieces of wire will do the job.

They are like $4 at most auto parts places just look hard.

Yes stiff wires will work.

The tools are much faster and easier.

I guess I'm old school, and four dollars is four dollars* for something that in all likelihood will only be used once.
*Not to mention the gas (and the time) to get to and from the parts store(s).

But to each his own.
