How do I replace the fuel air sensor... I was told it was really easy, but I need a wee bit more information then that. Is it easy to get to? Do I really need a mechanic that I can't afford at the moment?
Can anyone help!!

The oxygen sensors are really fairly easy to access and replace. I'm not sure how many your '02 Ranger has (I know most Explorers have four). But you'll have to track down which o2 sensor is bad. Once you do that just locate it along your exhaust tubing, unclip the harness, unscrew the sensor from the bung, and replace with the new one.

How can u tell if its a bad o2 sensor?

Typically you'll get a CEL with a code.

one more question

where do the O2 censors hide? I looked on the top... thank you for all the help!

use some pb blaster or other penetrating oil it will help with stubborn o2's

I read somewhere that the O2 sensors are easier to remove when the exhaust is still hot.

Sure enough, the ones on my '94 broke loose after 14 years of use with hardly any effort at all (no penetrating oil needed).
