So i just got a 1995 Exploer XLT 4x2. and its not quite as respnosive as i would like.... you were 16 once ;) .... i was wondering if anyone knew an easy and CHEAP (i emphasize cheap) way to pick up some extra hoarsepwer or to do something to make it more responsive.

First few things I'd do is check/replace the usual maintenance items such as spark plugs, oil, filters (oil, air , and maybe fuel), spark plug wires, and so on. You'll probably notice the biggest difference when you replace the plugs (assuming they're super old).

In addition, you can go to your local dealer and ask them to do an 'engine flush' (i think thats what its called) to remove deposits and residuals from the engine (this helps a great deal too - especially in MPG). This process typically runs about ~$100.
