I don't see why it wouldn't work for the front, but it won't work for the rears. The Ranger uses a spring-over axle, while your Explorer is a spring-under axle.

Oooh, I'm getting my models confused... IIRC, they had a 2wd 'Edge' package that used torsion bars... that was the one I was thinking of. My sister had one... 2wd with torsion bars instead of coils.... Might've been a 99 or '00 though... Can't recall...
