I need some help

I wired in my Kendwood deck to my X...the stereo has power and works fine, the stock system has no problems. When i pull the switch...nothing. No sound at all. I gave the wire adapters and everything is wired correct but no sound. Ideas???

Did you have any wires left over? Like a blue one or a black one? Do you have a factory amp?

There werent any wires left over...I tested the connections from the wires that come from the deck and i have a signal. Everything should be working, the only 2 things i can think of would be the connector i bought just doesn't work with the factory connection or somehow the amp is messing things up because there is an amp and i haven't bypassed it but i should still get some type of sound i thought even with the amp.

It's probably that you didn't bypass the stock amp like I suggested

I am getting to that...It was 1:00am at my pap's place and my wife wanted to go home and go to bed so i didn't have the time to do it. I will, hopefully tonight but i thought there should be some type of sound. In the stereo shop they said it would work with the amp but it may damage the amp if the volume is turned up too high.

??The amp is really in the rear panel just in front of the cubby hole??? If so, is there a special tool to pop off the little caps that hold the trim panel down?? That will be a pain to pull apart~!

The plastic rivets are best pulled out with a special puller tool ($3 at Autozone), but can be pried out with a screwdriver. Is is much easier on a 4 door than 2 door, in that you're lucky. It will take a bit of time, but the factory amp is probably the problem.

Even if the factory amp isn't the ultimate problem, you'll be much better off bypassing it in the longrun.

I was going to bypass it anyways. Just didn't have the time. I just hope my wife will let me work on it tonight...
