Would anyone tell me if "aal" is the same as "helper springs"??? I also need the stock swaybar size for a 91 xlt. My x was towed by the swaybar once apon a time and the mounts folded forward (but a $25 tow out of DEEP spring mud and 35 miles home, I could'nt complain).

i guess an "aal" COULD be considered as a "helper" spring since the word "helper" is so GD vague. But I think most people would think of "helper" springs as ones which look like this:

Then when everyone claims add-a-leaf, what are they doing and where are they gettin' them? I'm still kinda new to s.u.a. I'm used to "all leaf srung, front and rear and maybe blocks." I've ordered my warrior "war153s", and I got the Superior 2000lb helper leaf kit from the local Autozone with the Daystar 2" coil spacer and shock extenders front and rear. Is this gonna level my x out or is there an aal out there that is very common and inexpensive?

The AAL is is $27 from Summit Racing (search for part number: EXP-13120).

Wait I'm lost, you're trying to level out your explorer? Is it the rear or the back thats sagging? Cauz the coil spacers are for the front cauz the coils are on the front. The AALs are for the rear since leaves are on the rear.

OOHHH Im sorry!!! ITS GOIN UP!! And I'd say yes it does have a slight case of dragon heinie. I know where the front is going, but with multiple parts for the rear, I don't know how high it'll be. I just ordered my aal's from summit (part # exp-13120). Any suggestions on if I can use the shackles, aal, and helpers, trim fenders+ run 32s and keep the bottom of my door @ or below 24"??? 20" is stock.

AALs will lift your vehicle, helper springs will not lift your vehicle they're used for towing and will only do something when a load is put on and the rear end starts to sag.

The aal and shackles will give me lift and the helper leafs will just compress my vertabrea unless I'm tugging someone out? With this I also assume that my flex will drop dramaticaly with helpers?

could someone w/ a 1st gen. 4dr x with aal, and war153s and 31s or 32s please let me know how high it is to the bottom of their door? I want to be legal & I only have up to 24".
