It's leaking, and I know it's time. My 98 has 320,000 miles, and this is something I know has been coming a while. it's a 5.0 and the leak is on the passenger side.

I have a 97 Aerostar that will be my backup vehicle, as soon as i get some front tires on it, and that will allow me to take my time on the Explorer.

I intend to yank everything out of the passenger side of the engine compartment (intake filter, throttle body, washer reservoir, air conditioner condenser) so as to give me plenty of room.

My intention is to - as carefully as possible- soak each bolt in PB and let it sink in for as long as possible, then using a six point socket, work the bolts slowly out.

I've read a lot of the threads here about manifolds, and I'm suitably paranoid about breaking bolts. I figure the "back and forth" method is my best bet, slowly backing the bolts out as I go. I'm prepared to go in and pull the heads if i have to, in case I lose a bolt.

Anyone have any specific suggestions? Thanks in advance.
