I stole Lara Croft's Tomb Raider!

Thats fine, but next time try and phrase your opinion in such a way that its not so offensive. Just say "I think its over rated, but if it works for you" other then saying "pos Jeep" "crappy Jeep" That just makes you sound like an ignorant brand basher. Might as well go pee on some Chevys while you're at it

I dont understand why everyone thinks they have a right to be rude in a situation like this. You have your right to an opinion, but have some respect.

A new '04 Rubicon with a soft top and soft doors down the street from my house is going for $26K. You could talk them down at least 2K and then you're paying about half of what that D90 is going for. Just a thought...

Nice tuck, but I can't see taking a new truck, with monthly payments, and taking it 4-wheeling. I'd be afraid of scratching it. It I wanted a bangem-up 4x4, I would go with a late 70's CJ7, Bronco or F150.

gumarcel...well, you are a special person, you must be a hard core rover guy because anyone that says Jeeps are crap is absolutely insane...period.

The Jeep looks good Ken, it will look awesome with some lift and 33s+.

Everyone who has 'wheeled with me know my high anxiety level and so they call me a "wimp". No biggie. My Ranger has no dents in it, and I never rolled it. I'm careful with the T.R., since it's my daily driver, and I need it to get to school at night. Monthly payments are the pits though...

You could say I am a hardcore rover guy. I am pretty much talking stock. It seems when I have wheeled with jeeps they break stuff. Just my opionon. But mostly I am saying the rover in the first tomb raider is much coolers then the jeep in the new one.

gumarcel - there is no doubt that the Rover is a nice ride. They are built well from the factory, and have distinctive looks and features. I would love to 'wheel one in Africa if I ever got the chance. That would be fun to outrun a charging rhino! Last weekend, I went out with 2 other Jeeps, and the one Jeep in our group that was all built up kept bending its Tie Rod assembly, because the guy never upgraded his steering system to accomodate the 35" MT/Rs he runs. Its not the vehicle's fault this kept happening, it was the driver who insisted that the stock parts could hold up to the rocky dirt roads we all were driving down (me with 31s, Mike with 32s, and Kevin w/35s). Us guys with the smaller tires and w/4" of lift and/or no lift didn't even break a sweat.

congrats ken! rubis are awesome trucks. i test drove one for the hell of it (there is no way in hell i could EVER afford one) and fell in love. and you think that your geting bashed here for buying a jeep? go to a jeep board and tell them you sold your TJ for an explorer. a little ribbing is ok guys, but be glad for him, not envious of him.

NO MATTER what you have your gunna break something sooner or later! I mean that s part of 4 wheelsing, it puts more strain on sothing than was originally attend to have...

jsut my opion

PEACE

If you haven't broken something you're not wheeling hard enough!

then i guess my vrigin run was worth it because now i need a new steering gear box!

i love teh rubi's dude, kudos.

If it aint broken wheel it till it is!!

Well maybe not, that gets kind of expensive expecially if you're on a budget. Btw ken I've seen the TR rubicon at the local J**p dealership parked up on thier rock display, they're not just in cali. ;)

I think it looks great Ken! I'm sure it will also retain its retail value too considering that not too many of those were made. Looks like a fun 4 wheeler! :chug:

These little J**ps were intended only for California, but dealerships always trade merchandise in order to offer more diverse product. In the case of the Tomb Raider, there's some sittin' on the lots here in So.Cal, and a dealership in New Jersey could pull in some good money selling perhaps the only one in that state to some J**p nut.

BTW- I haven't broken anything on the trail - in my Ranger, or in my J**p. I've traveled up trails that have claimed driveshafts and other drivetrain parts of other rigs, and my Ranger and T.R. have just kept on puttin' along...

Well said Ken, nice rig, that would be the only reason I would step off to a newer 4wd.

don't mind marcel he's not all there...i still wonder what his motives are for hanging around this board. I can't believe he'd figure whenever a Jeep goes wheeling, things break, as if they don't on a Rover. Everyone knows british cars break if they're looked at the wrong way. How many times has your rover been in for service or repair in the last year?

BTW: Angelina Jolie isn't british. :p Lara Croft is.
