I stole Lara Croft's Tomb Raider!

the only things that break when I have been wheeling are things I built so I could go wheeling...

hahaha doesnt that just figure...

Nice looking Rubi, it might be able to keep up with us on the trails even!! hahaha....

If they all bought Rubicons they wouldnt need our 8.8's anymore.....the price may come back down...

I now have the lift, and I'm swapping the 31" tires for 33" TrXus MTs pretty soon. I'll have pix once the whole thing is complete...

Ken:

Congratulations and welcome on the Jeep side of the world! I got to drive a couple of rounds in a TR Rubi at Camp Jeep this year - and felt in love. Not so much with the TR edition - I liked the special colors of the dash board, but the rest is a little bit over the top for me - but with the Rubi. This 4:1 lowbox together with the two lockers are dream. Do you have the manual or the auto tranny? Which lift did you get? Can you be found at JeepsUnlimited now? People are not all as nice as at the Explorer Forum, but it's anyhow pretty good and it can save you tons of money.

I'll agree with you that I felt the TR-edition looked Hollywood for my taste. But, yesterday driving back from Las Vegas, I saw a couple of women in a lifted TR-edition that was 6" over stock, had 35" BFG-MTs, Warn Winch, endo-hoop bumper, all of the extras, and that TR looked bad-ass!

My lift is a 2" Pro-Comp suspension. I'm combining that with 1 3/4" of coil spacers for 3" total suspension lift. I'm now thinking about ordering a Pro-Thane 1" body lift and a 1" Motor Mount lift to give me that full 4" of lift. My tires I'm throwing on the Rubicon will be 33"r16s and I'm probably going with the TrXus MTs. The Alcoas that came with the rig will stay, but I will use wheel spacers to move the tires out and away from the body. I also have a set of Rubicon Express swaybar disconnects that were given to me that are going on as well.

Mine is the manual tranny, so, lifting with 4.10 gears and changing tire diameter will work well with 33s.

I'm on Jeeps Unlimited, and the guys there are very helpful (Wrangler TJ forum), but, I'll agree that Rick has built up a polite virtual community here where users respect each other. I haven't had any problems with guys on the J.U. board. I'm also a manager for Rubicon owners of Southern California and they can be found at www.RubiconOwners.com. My Tomb Raider is shown there along with trail rides that I'm organizing to the desert as well as Baja, Mexico (this summer). I haven't completely moved from this forum because the guys are a nice bunch and I've always enjoyed talking with the crew here.

Here's an update. In December, my friend THUNDERHORSE and his son Joel installed a Pro-Comp 4" suspension. That, combined with 33" TrXuS MTs (which are far better than Goodyear MT/Rs in my opinion), 15x8" American Racing "Slider" wheels, and Rubicon-Express swaybar disconnects have made my Jeep an even better trail rig.

Here are a few pics from this Saturdays run near Joshua Tree National Park...

Here...you can zoom in on the tires, but all you're gonna see are the sidewalls, not the tread...

Here's a basic flex shot w/the swaybars still connected. I'm very happy with the performance this Jeep offers...

Nice!

nice!

Hey! Jeeps are nice vehicles. The only thing left with a straight front axle (not talking about the $50K + vehicles like Land Rovers or such). Very capable in their bear stock form. I have nothing against Jeeps, I just hate those with the "Jeeper" mentality. You know, Your truck sucks 'cause it's not a Jeep like mine!

I HATE those people!

If I ever did buy a Jeep, this is what I woulg get. The Jeep Brute pickup.

At the SEMA show, they introduced this thing with a HEMI! It is different from the pic I posted. The last I heard it had D60 rear 37 MTR's and all kinds of other goodies. I like it in this color.

I wonder how airbags to off-road, its be scared to puncture one.

Those airbags are supposed to function quite well w/o punctures in the heavy rubber bags. If I had an additional $3,000.00 I might consider this mod..

I just read what I wrote and damn, I didnt spell anything right:D

You have to admit, the Brute looks nice! Well, at least I think so.

I prefer the jeep rescue. That brute is pretty bad ass too though.

There are only a few things I prefer on my CJ over the Explorer.

1. Solid Front Axle (even though I still have a busted Dana 30 up there)
2. Removable top
3. Approach and Departure angles.
