Ok, after driving with the bass on pretty loud for about 45 minutes straight the bass will just stop...I have to turn it down and then 10 minutes or so later it will work again...

Also when the bass is loud the lyrics will just start skipping sorta.

I think I need a bigger amp, I couldnt get one until christmas but is that what is causing the problems? I have...

2 12" Kicker CompVRs
Clarion DXZ635MP deck
Kicker DX57 speakers
Kicker KX350.2 amp

Also could I still use the amp i have now if i get a better one. Like use it for the speakers or whatever?

And what amp would you recommend me getting.

does the amp get plenty of air?

that sub amp is only 350watts rms mono bridged
so you are probably maxing it out when you turn up the music. your subs are rated at 400watts rms each. so i would recommend the kx550.2 or the kx850.2
the speakers are only 35watts rms so your deck has no trouble pushing those.

No, the place that put it in put it under the back seat and then cut out the carpet and put it under the carpet. And I'm in texas so it's pretty hot.

Whats the difference between the 850.2 and .4, the .2 is like $4 more than the .4

I could get that, It's in my price range, I mean.

That's your problem with the amp. You need to get it so it gets plenty of air. If you stick a different amp under there it's just going to have the same problem. You are killing it with all the heat so I'm sure if you pulled it out to some place where it has more air flow it would do just fine.

Ok, I'll get one of my friend's brother to try that. He installed his system on his ranger and z71 and said he would install my system before I even got it.

Acctually I'm just going to call the place that installed it and tell them to move it.

Also my dad said that he's not buying anymore stereo stuff for my car, not even for christmas, so I can't get a new amp unless I get a job.

Nevermind, I just discovered that the amp is behind my back seats attactched to the back of the box...The carpet is cut open because they had to put wires through there. Do you think I should keep the back seats down so it gets air? I'm going to call the place tomorrow and see what they have to say about it.

Well putting the back seats down and rolling down the windows seems to have done the trick for now. I'll probably upgrade to a bigger amp if I ever get a job just because I know it will sound better.

I'd take it off the box and move it. I've heard that the vibrations that go through the box and into the amp can kill the amp quicker. Take the amp off the box and put it in some free air.

the vibrations from a sub box wont hurt the typical amp. Are you sure the subs impedance is within the amps capability?

I'd take the amp off the box anyways.. think of it this way..

Someone breaks into your truck and they get the amp and the subs in one shot.. why make it easy for the thief?

check that the subs are getting the correct ohm load. i suspect that your subs are not wired for a 4 ohm load that your amp is sending
the difference between a .2 and a .4 is 2 channel or 4 channel. a 4 channel can drive front and back, 2 channel just 1 pair of speakers.
