I have a 92 E.B and ahve blown the factory subwoofer in the passenger rear cargo cover. I have read that replacing the sub it quite a bit of work, i would rather just dis-connect it, my after market subs sound better anyway.

My aftermarket system has the remote to my aftermarket amp running off a blue wire (usually the remote color) that is comming out ot a wire loom that continues back behind the same pannel as the speaker.
I the amp for the spreaker in the same place?, and if so, if i cut that wire will the amp not turn on, essentially dissabling the factor sub??,

will that work, or any other ideas, I havent pulled head unit out to see how the whole thing is rigged under the dash, because i dont have the tool to remove the head unit, so i'd rather just get it at the speaker

thanks

GO PATS! KICK'IN A IN THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!

You can just take off the grill and cut the wiring to the sub...it seems like the easiest way

Pull of the back panel enough to unplug the sub amp. Its behind the door speaker amp.

yea you're gonna need to take off the rear panel to get to the sub in order to unplug it. Peeling back the grille is not an option as it is fastened from the other side, it will break if you try and peel it back.

the grill can come out... on the sides of it press in with your finger tips with some force and it pops out easily..then just get a star shape screwdriver and unscrew the 4 screws holding the sub then pull it out and unclip the wires from the back of the sub...thas it! a replacment is like 60 or 70 from the dealer.

btw..i've blown 2 of them but i didn't replace the second one cause i got a pair of subs that blow that 6"/6 1/2" sub away..so jus do what i told ya
