So the 3rd row seats in my X are a waste, they're never used. So could anyone give me a pointer on how to create something so I can ditch those 3rd row seats.

Thanks,
Nate

It seems like it wouldn't be too hard to find someone who only has 2 rows to trade seats and the required trim with you. You could probably trade parts plus get a little cash.

If you lived closer to SC and had the same color interior I know I'd do the swap with you.

You could try finding an explorer in a junk yard with the right interior. I assume you want to reduce weight instead of just leaving the 3rd row folded down.

Removing the seat are very simple. Just peek around and you'll find 6-bolts if I rememeber correctly. Under the front of the seat cushion should be 2 tabs that you'll push and it will release the seat cushion, exposing some of the bolts. I can take all my seats out(minus drivers seat) in about an hour taking my time.

After you get it off, from there you can figure what you want to do. Some people build a floor to allow storage underneath, some would build a raised box to put subs/amps in to blow their windows out and go deaf.
