Hey Guys,

I rescued a 130K 2001 Explorer Sport. Reading and learning. It apparently adopted a human.

My first questions. This a photo of a 2000, and we see a Block Vent Hose and an IAC Hose.

1. Why is there no IAC hose on my 2001?

2. Reading about block vent hoses, on some of the diagrams I think I see a half dollar sized In-line disc filter between the intake and the block. I may be looking at the wrong replacement part. There is no inline filter on the 2001, is it missing or is this normal?

3. The present 2001 Vent hose seems short, and it was disconnected from vibration probably. So the vehicle ran without it for who knows how long. This hose is inserted via two male inserts, between the block and intake. How was this attached stock originally?

Is there likely damage to the injectors?

The vehicle runs amazingly well.

THANK YOU!
Kenny

You might also carefully inspect the hose that goes to the IAC. I believe that they fall apart with age, especially at a section where it turns, out of sight behind the intake. Disconnection or deterioration adds a vacuum leak and issues with unmetered air.

Good luck.

TY. Is there a reason the 2000 has two hoses of the intake, and the 2001 only one?
