I have cleaned my IAC and I think I actually made my idle worse. So now I am looking for the cheapest cost to replace it. I have a 1999 explorer, Sohc. Also for the short term my mechanic adjusted a cable simply by pulling on it and my idle actually idles on its own now. However It definately does not run like it should. Does anyone know of a good place to order a replacement. I've seen them priced around $90 but, I know others have said they found them less expensive. Thanks.

I've got an OEM IAC with about a month on it. I put it on my old Explorer Sport not long before I traded it in. The old IAC wasn't that bad so I put it back on before selling and I've got the "new" one in a box in the garage. I think I paid close to $90 US from the dealer (I'm in Canada so I paid Canadian). I've seen aftermarket IAC for less so maybe go that route. I seem to recall finding them for around $40 US on eBay.

You just need to check around. For me, it was either $90 at the local pep boys, or only about $45 at the local shop that sold ACDELCO parts. Guess which one I went with.....

IAC Cost

Thanks for the quick replies. I found my part at autozone for $74.99, which is fine since I wanted it fixed right away. It took me about 2 minutes to put it in and my rpms went from 300-400 to 700-800. My electrical power doesn't drop when parked. The guy at autozone told me to clean it with gum out. When I told him I already tried he said it was probably stuck in one position. Anyway I'm happy. Thanks guys
