Hi everyone

Could someone tell me EXACTLY where the Idle Air Control Valve is located on the 2000 Explorer.
I have a 4.0 6 cylinder.
Can you tell me how many wires are on the connector that go to the IAC.
Thank you very much
Tommig

If you have the SOHC, unbolt that plastic piece on the top of your engine and you'll see it right on top. Its a little shiny cylinder-shaped thing bolted down with two bolts. It has one harness going into it and a black lookin cap that sticks out one side. You can't miss it.

Thank you very very much.

In my explorer it is not under the plastic shield, it is next to it. You do not need to take off the shield to get to it.
Want to let me know how to clean it? Do you just spray cleaner into? It looks pretty dirty in there.
