Ok who the heck was the idiodic engineer that put soft brass? screws in to hold on the IAC motor onto the throttle body?
Not only do these strip out easy, but who knows if I'll be able to get them out now without drilling them out. If I could cut a groove in them for a standard slot screwdriver I might be able to get them out.

Any others run into this crap?!@*

Sorry Doug,
When I took my IAC off, the bolts came out real smooth. Cleaned it and fro the 1st 5 minutes it ran rough - then ultra smooth. I also don't recall the bolts being brass - but I didn't pay much attention either...

I have had this happen before. The only sloution I have found is to cut a groove in the head of the bolt with a Dremel tool and used a flat blade screwdriver to remove it.

Ah..........
Dremel tool!!!!! MAN's greatest gift to MAN !!!!!!!!
If you do not have one, you're really not in the game!! haha

I bought a (sears) die grinder many years ago. (Its like an over sized dremel.) I don't see them too often. With a good variety of accessories: that is "Man's second greatest to MAN" for larger metal parts, nuts, bolts, etc that refuse to do what you want them to.
Sorry if I'm off the thread.

"Who put a brass............?"
I think we went through this with a spark plug discussion....... anything to save a dime or two, anywhere and everywhere they can.
...didn't that make American great?
