I cleaned mine also, whine continued. Removed the black cap and the whine went away. Put it back on, whine came back. Can't explain why...
The purpose of the black cap was mentioned in an earlier post; the black cap/cover has a felt filter to allow some air through; part of the cleaning involves that portion as well. Please post if cleaning it has stopped the noise?
While it might take some time to read all these pages the knowledge you might gain ought to be worthwhile and take notes (copy paste) regarding process & the types of cleaners to use & to NOT use.
As there ought to be a gasket LOOK for it when removing the IACV and note it's condition to see if a new one is needed.
