2006 ford explorer v6
I have a 2006 ford explorer V6 Eddie Bauer I'm having some idling issues. When I go to start it up it seems like its having a hard time to start runnin. The rpms will go up past 1000 after start up and drop down between 250 and 500 and go back and forth until finally idling down to 500 which is making the check engine light come on and throwing a code p0506 which is the idle air control system I ordered a new IAC valve from oreileys but it don't seem to be the right one. Is the IAC valve built into the throttle body or is there a different one I need to order? Your help is much appreciated!

Before you install/buy the new one, try cleaning the old one with Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner.
Sometimes they just get sticky inside from the gunk going in and it causes problems.
They don't really fail that often.
